About

Mitch Tolnay is a singer and guitarist based in Thirroul, NSW, known for his soulful acoustic blend of folk, reggae and blues-inspired covers and originals.

Born in Mittagong (“little mountain” in Koori), Mitch grew up surrounded by music, learning piano and guitar from a young age. After spending his twenties travelling the world, he rediscovered his love for performing while busking and hitchhiking around New Zealand, drawing inspiration from the ocean, the bush and the people he met along the way.

Now back on the NSW coast, Mitch performs solo and with his band at pubs, wineries and weddings across the South Coast, Southern Highlands, Sydney, the Blue Mountains and the Hunter Valley. Alongside his wedding and event work, he writes and records original music, including his project Jeffery Day, and plays guitar and bass with local acts such as Krystal Rivvers and The Beefs.

When he’s not performing, Mitch can be found at home in his bushland hideaway by the sea in Thirroul, with his wife Maddie and their two boys, Wolfgang and Zephyr. He loves a good coffee and mid strength beer.
