Meet Mitch

A landscape that makes conversation stop

Hey, I'm Mitch! I'm a wedding musician and DJ who's spent years playing weddings across the Blue Mountains—heritage estates, mountain retreats and intimate venues where the landscape does half the work and the music does the rest.

There's something about coming around a bend on the Great Western Highway and having the valley open up beneath you that makes people go quiet. For a wedding, that kind of stillness is rare—and it changes what the music needs to do.

Whether you're after restrained acoustic music for a cliff-edge ceremony, warm background tunes over canapés, or a DJ set that takes the reception from dinner through to midnight, I can look after the whole day.

What's included

Live music and DJ for your whole wedding

Most couples book me to take care of the music for their entire wedding day.

That means you don't need to organise separate musicians for the ceremony, someone else for cocktail hour and then a DJ for the reception. I bring everything needed and move with the day as it unfolds.

Your day can include:

You choose how much of the day you'd like me involved in. I offer everything from ceremony-only options through to full-day live music and DJ packages.

The sound

Blue Mountains wedding music

Blue Mountains venues tend to be smaller and more intimate than the grand estates of the Highlands or the sprawling wineries of the Hunter—and that suits the kind of music I love playing.

Heritage buildings up here have acoustics that newer venues can't match—stone walls, high ceilings and timber floors that make an acoustic guitar sound genuinely beautiful without needing any production behind it.

My live sets cover a mix of acoustic, folk, indie, soul, pop and classics, with artists ranging from Jack Johnson, Paul Kelly and Vance Joy through to Coldplay, Fleetwood Mac, Noah Kahan and plenty more.

By the time the DJ set starts, the mood shifts completely—the aim is simple: build on the energy the day has been holding all afternoon and let the dance floor take it from there.

Special requests

Considered, not curated

I don't think wedding music should feel like a generic playlist that gets rolled out every Saturday.

Before your wedding, we'll talk through the songs and artists you love, the atmosphere you want to create and the important musical moments throughout the day.

If there's a particular song you want to walk down the aisle to or hear for your first dance, I can learn special requests for you and make them part of the day.

The goal is for the music to feel like it belongs to your wedding, not like it's been imported from somewhere else.

Blue Mountains Wedding Music FAQ

It depends on how much of the day you'd like covered—options range from ceremony-only through to a full day of live music and DJ. As a guide, most couples spend between $1,000 and $2,600 on their wedding music and DJ package. Get in touch with your date and what you have in mind for an accurate quote.

Absolutely. I can provide live music for your ceremony and canapés before moving into the reception and DJing later in the evening. You can also book me for individual parts of the day if you don't need the full package.

Yep. I bring the sound equipment required for my performances throughout the day, including separate setups where needed so the transition between different parts of your wedding is as smooth as possible.

Definitely. Special requests are one of my favourite parts of playing weddings. Depending on the package you choose, I can learn up to three songs specifically for your day.

Yep! I perform live acoustic music earlier in the wedding before switching over to DJ for the dance floor later in the night—one person covering both the ceremony musician and DJ roles.

A bit of everything. Rather than turning up with one fixed wedding playlist, I'll work with you beforehand to understand what you love, what you definitely don't want to hear and the kind of dance floor you're hoping for.

All the time. The Blue Mountains is one of the regions I service regularly, including Katoomba, Leura, Blackheath and surrounding areas.
